About

Philip Jensen-Carter

An award winning commercial photographer based in both Westchester County, NY and Cape Cod, MA, Philip Jensen-Carter shoots both residential and commercial architecture, corporate portraiture, and products for discerning clients.

Mr. Jensen-Carter has been creative since childhood, art classes in oil painting, wood carving, and building things. His passion in High School was the art room.

With camera in hand at 17 and an eye for details, he mastered capturing a variety of imagery. He studied at Maryland Institute College of Art, majoring in photography and design. MICA sharpened his talent and then by working for several successful New York City studios, he honed his skill.

Philip has evolved with the times. He’s photographed products from chain saws to batteries, medical doctors to research scientists, editorial stories, annual reports, brochures and catalogs, and a host of other things. While shooting house ruins in Northern Westchester, he met an architect which led to many contacts in the architectural world. Now he gets to ply both passions, working with the design/construction market and capturing the perfect images to enhance a clients’ vision along with his own. They say he sees things differently, and it sets his work apart!

Years Of Experienc

When I’m offered an assignment, usually the client will provide a detailed list of requirements, i.e. date & time, specific shots, address & contact info. We will discuss usage, advance, payment, etc.  My commercial clients request a walk-thru to predetermine shots and angles while my residential architects and designers prefer to work with me the day of the shoot. After the initial discussion and questions have been hammered out, I then provide a proposal/estimate for the job. It’s my contract, to be signed by both parties. A Photographic Shoot: A typical shoot can include pre-production, a location walk-thru, travel, a half, full, or several day shoot, and post production. The creative fee encompasses the actual shoot. Expenses can include travel, a stylist and/or assistant, propping or staging, talent, rental gear, etc. Post-production includes raw image digital manipulation, i.e. color/perspective correction, retouching, flash drive/dropbox. I shoot wirelesly tethered to an ipad so my client can see first hand the camera image. This then allows for suggestions and warranted changes as necessary.  My turn around time is usually several days providing there is no major retouching.
